How to receive Eternal Life through Jesus Christ
6 Steps to accept the gift of eternal life through Christ
1.) Hear the Word of God
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (ESV)
2.) Believe in God
Hebrews 11:1-6 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval.
By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (ESV)
3.) Repent of your sins
Acts 17:30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. (ESV)
4.) Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
Matthew 10:32-33 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. (ESV)
5.) Be Baptized
Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 22:16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name. (ESV)
6.) Live for Jesus
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (ESV)
